Our bodies are also a set of particular technologies that shape us and the world around us.
You body is inhabited by thousand of other living beings. Microbes, bacteria, fungi and viruses cohabitate and in a sense guide the body. You are a collective of otherness where mixing, identifying, testing, experimenting occurs, just like in a regular lab. This makes us a walking and talking biological lab that interacts with a whole spectrum of living environments.
Its knowledge is helpful in everyday combats of eco anxiety, a legacy of our ancestors. How do we find agency in ourselves and power around us to regain hope?
Attentive walking, coming back to self - Down to Earth (Latour 2018.), pausing, attuning are our technologies of the self.
As writing about phenomenological and somatic knowledge is a poor translation I invite you to come together for a walk, get down to Earth. Fight the urge to read this as a white paper knowledge dissemination but as an invitation to break it and show other ways of doing, thinking knowing.
You can perceive these collective walks as potential countermeasures, a soma linguistic inquiry into planetary crisis and agency quest that might bring cracks in the dominant knowledge and technological paradigm. Resist the urge to perceive this just as a website, but a contradiction - a white paper, an intervention. Yet do not perceive it as a visual or ethnographically documentation of the research data and samples explored, but as an exhibition, occupying a scientific framework of a white page knowledge paradigm, maybe it is just a different kid of a white paper.
Similarly to the white cube space it too has its own ideological, methodological, cultural, financial frameworks that power them.
Thus what you are reading is not a disemmination of knowledge, it is an artistic hack of the institutional framework that needs reframing.
A CELEBRATION OF FAILURE AS PRACTICE, (UN)LEARNING AS PRACTICE.
